THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTO

This is our third episode of ‘The Story Behind The Photo’ with the renowned American photojournalist Christopher Morris who shares his story of the massacre from 22 January 1994, Alipasino Polje, Sarajevo. Six children were killed in the Serb mortar attack while playing in the snow in front of their building.

That bloody Saturday six young lives were murdered: Indira Brković (21.12.1981.), 12 years old Jasmina Brković (01.02.1989.), 5 years old Mirza Dedović (07.01.1986.), 8 years old Danijel Jurenić (27.03.1983.), 11 years old Nermin Rizvanović (26.04.1981.), 13 years old Admir Subašić (05.07.1985.), 9 years old

The youngest victim was Jasmina Brković who was killed just ten days before her fifth birthday. She was killed together with her sister Indira.
